If the Sonics still played here and I still gave a shit (which I don't), I'd advise them to tender a short-term contract to free agent point guard Shaun Livingston, whose rights were renounced by the Clippers a couple days ago. Livingston is perhaps the most injury-prone young player in the NBA not named Robert Swift, but when he's played, he's played brilliantly in stretches. Six-foot-seven and Gelabale skinny, I got a front-row gander at Livingston while he was a high school superstar in Illinois, and the kid has eyes in the back of his head. It was like watching a pencil-thin version of Magic Johnson patrol the floor.
If his body corrects itself — and that's admittedly a longshot — signing him to a one-year contract with a club option for the second year would be a canny move for the former Supes, who aren't going to be very good this year anyway. But like I said, I don't care anymore — he'd actually make the most sense for Denver, which cleared some cap room by trading Marcus Camby to the Clippers for nothing, and is in need of a point guard.
